Hey Bima Agent, I don’t need Health Insurance

Thousands of Insurance agents and hundreds of Insurance Companies and Brokers Apps,Websites shout over the roof top, luring Indians to spend money on Health Insurance everyday, every hour and minute on all available media, be it IPL, Radio, OTT, et cetera…

I am an Insurance Broker and earn my livelihood selling insurance although its always mentioned, ‘Insurance is subject matter of solicitation’ but is hardly solicited/ asked/ requested by the buyer. All my life I have come across learned people arguing that they don’t need any Insurances, forget about Health Insurance.

Do you ask yourself: why do I need to buy a health insurance? I’m healthy, I never fall sick, and I have plenty of money to spend on medical care if needed. Talk to any Bima Agent today and they’ll ask you to buy a health insurance cover for yourself and your loved ones.

But you don’t feel the need, right? To make you happier, here are six reasons why you really don’t need to worry about buying Health Insurance.

If you agree to this blog, Congratulations to you as you belong to those 80% Indians who have still not bought a Health Insurance Policy and by God’s grace, if you disagree, do contact your Bima Agent immediately.

Born with the silver spoon: I earn enough to live with all luxuries of life and there is a steady and increasing source of income for me and my family, then why to waste money on Health Insurance?

Medical inflation of 10% to 20% can be countered with increasing income levels and even if there is any major casualty in family, I am capable to ward off through plenty of disposable income and bank balance.

Too Young to think of Insurance: So many places to travel, plenty of bucket list restaurants, bars…who have the time and energy to spent on buying Health Insurance. Being young, I can always take care of small accidents and casualties. Once I get married, have family…tab dekhenge…

My Family is always there for me: I am the beloved member of my family, and they will do anything and spend any amount of money it takes to keep me in best of conditions. My health problems are not a financial burden for them and being a member of Joint Family, my family is so strong that they can fight all odds, even inflation, to bring me back from the claws of death...Hum Saath Saath Hain...

Love paying taxes: Paying a little more amount of tax doesn’t bother me at all but don’t want to go through the hassles of purchasing Health Insurance. My insurance agents says that we can claim income deduction of Rs. 25,000/- as an individual, additional deduction of Rs. 25,000/- for parents and Rs. 50,000/- if parents are above 60 years, but my dear agent doesn’t understand that for claiming such deduction, I need to spend for paying Health Insurance Premium. Sab ullu banane ki schemes hai…

Group Insurance hai na: I am adequately covered by my company and thus don’t need any retail Health Insurance for my family and self. Although I change jobs, every new company I join have plenty of employee welfare schemes and group health insurance is always been provided to every employee and their families. I will think of availing Health Insurance when I reach my retirement age…till then…I am sure I don’t need Health Insurance…

Ayushman Bharat hai na: Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is one of the best policies that could ever been implemented in India which is meant for roughly the bottom 50% of our country.

It might sound controversial but have come across many who although don’t belong to this segment, believes to be part of this yojana and thus don’t avail Health Insurance.

The Bottom Line

Health Care is becoming expensive and those who don’t have insurance coverage will be at a much greater disadvantage.

We all live in the world of SIPs and it’s a Choice we make for our Families during Medical Calamities, whether we spend through our hard-earned income/ ancestral assets or through Systematic Insurance Planning, the SIP Mantra for Insurance…

So...Soch kar Samaj kar....Health Insurance kar...
